PROJECT 8P HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE

If holiday shopping is on your mind, then we have a fabulous resource for you!

I don’t know about you, but shopping for my 8p hero has sometimes stumped me over the years. Since my son is non-verbal and does not use any communication devices with success, I often resort to a typical go-to gift that I know he has loved in the past. However, sometimes it would be nice to crank it up a notch and find something that would really get his attention and interest beyond his usual DVDs and books.

So what better way to go out of the comfort zone of gift buying than to refer to the favorite gifts of other 8p heroes! We reached out to other 8p families to see what they have had success with for their children over the years and this list came together. If you are looking for inspiration, look no farther! Here is our Holiday Gift Guide!

The Project 8p Foundation (Project 8p) was created in 2018 to:

  • Accelerate future treatments, not only for 8p, but potentially for other chromosome-wide diseases as well.
  • Lead with knowledge from patients. Currently, there is no cure for 8p disorders, nor is there a standard course of treatment.

The Project 8p Foundation (Project 8p) was created in 2018 to:

  • Raise transformative funding for pioneering scientific research into treatments for a complex, rare disease involving 250+ affected genes on the short arm of the 8 th chromosome (8p). Rearrangements of these genes causes significant abnormalities to the entire neurological system, thus all organs and functions of the body– with variance in cognitive functions, gross motor skills, social development and other challenges during infancy, and throughout life;
  • Empower a unified community of 8p patients and their families so they can have meaningful lives today; and
  • Accelerate future treatments, not only for 8p, but potentially for other chromosome-wide diseases as well.
